H2S is a naturally occurring gas and is often referred to as sour gas, acid gas, stink damp or sulphurated hydrogen.
In low concentrations, H2S has a rotten egg smell and causes eye and throat irritation. At higher concentrations, H2S can cause death.
Training how to protect yourself is crucial in any industry where H2S might be found. This course provides students with the skills and knowledge to help them identify and detect H2S, mitigate the hazards of working in an H2S environment, and respond to an incident involving an H2S release. The course includes both theory and practical application exercises.
As of May 1, 2019 the new Common Safety Orientation (CSO) replaces the OSSA Basic Safety Orientation (BSO) and Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) courses as a pre-site requirement at participating member work sites.
The half-day interactive training session is designed to actively engage participants, with an emphasis on taking personal responsibility for workplace safety.
This safety ticket can be added on to any heavy equipment operator course.
